CDBA aims to monitor the bridleways within its area and deal with problems as they arise, for example overhanging vegetation and fallen trees. Whilst in theory such problems are the responsibility of the landowner or local authority, we find that in practice it is sometimes more effective to remove such obstructions ourselves.
Bridleways are needed as they provide a much safer way to traverse the countryside than using our road network. Take a look at this safety awareness video prepared by the BHS, and a second from a number of horse riders wearing head cams.
The Horse and Road Safety Awareness group provide useful information about safety in general, including a legal advice page. Their shop has a range of car stickers that can help us get the message out to other drivers. Click the button on the right to visit their shop.
