CDBA aims to monitor the bridleways within its area and deal with problems as they arise, for example overhanging vegetation and fallen trees. Whilst in theory such problems are the responsibility of the landowner or local authority, we find that in practice it is sometimes more effective to remove such obstructions ourselves. We have a small amount of equipment including a chainsaw, and have recently invested in a long-handled hedge cutter with the help of a grant from Shell Oil.
Below you'll find a few examples of the sort of work that we've achieved recently.
August 2016: Timandra Slade has done some really sterling work on the verges at the far end of Pednor...., clearing the "archway" and pulling up ragwort.
